Lane County Court Archives Office
Lane County Circuit Court is part of the Oregon Judicial Department. The practical clerk records contact for local case copies is the Court Archives Department at the courthouse. It is the office named by the court records page for copy questions and records requests. The court records page says Oregon Circuit Court case record copies can be requested by filling out the records request form, not by calling in the request by phone.
The office also supports public viewing through courthouse terminals. Those terminals are available without charge during normal court hours in the main floor lobby and can view digital records for cases started in 2014 or after. For pre-2014 case files, or when a copy must be certified or exemplified, use the document request form and wait for the fee quote.

Lane County Clerk Office Split
Lane County has two clerk concepts that should not be mixed. Court Archives handles Circuit Court case files, including civil, criminal, family, probate, and traffic cases filed in Circuit Court. The Lane County Clerk / Deeds and Records handles marriage licenses, real property recording, elections, domestic partnership declarations, and related county records.
This split matters when requesting a divorce decree, estate document, or criminal judgment. Divorce and probate case copies are Circuit Court records. Marriage license certified copies are County Clerk records. Sheriff records, police reports, and other county administrative records may go through Lane County public records or NextRequest, not OJD.

Request Lane County Certified Copies
Certified court copies prove that the copy came from the court record. They may be needed for Social Security, Secretary of State filings, estate administration, out-of-state court filings, and other agencies. OJD notes that certified copies may be electronic or paper, but some estate and probate documents may require paper certification.
- Search OJD Online Records Search first, if the case number is not known.
- Gather the case number, party names, approximate filing date, and exact documents or hearing dates.
- Submit the Lane County Circuit Court records request form or use the statewide OJD records request path.
- Wait for the Court Archives fee quote by email.
- Pay the full amount before processing begins, then choose email, mail, pickup, or another listed delivery method where available.

The same page states that court records cannot be requested by telephone, so phone contact should be used for questions rather than filing the request itself.

Lane County Court Copy Fees
The Court Archives fee schedule separates paper, digital, certified, exemplified, audio, media, and mailing costs. After the request is reviewed, the clerk emails the amount due. Payment must be made in full before processing. Large requests may have extra fees, and mailing is billed at actual cost.

OJCIN Online is another access channel for broader case and document access for qualifying users.
OJCIN is not the same as the free public search, and the public should not assume every document is available without a formal request.
Lane County Public Terminals
Free public viewing at the courthouse is a major Lane County access channel. The court says records may be viewed without charge at public terminals on the main floor lobby during normal court hours. These terminals are especially important because OJD Online Records Search does not show public documents, and because the portal itself warns that displayed information is not the official register record.
For cases started before 2014, the local research points users to a document request form rather than terminal-only access. For hearing audio, Lane County uses an audio recording system as the official court record. The court does not provide written transcripts, so a requester who needs a transcript must request audio and arrange transcription separately.

Federal Records Are Separate
Lane County court case copies are not federal court records. The U.S. District Court for the District of Oregon has a Eugene federal courthouse, and federal case filings use federal systems such as CM/ECF and PACER. The U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Oregon is also a separate federal court system.
The U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Oregon page is one federal records source near Lane County, but it is not the Lane County Court Archives Department.
Federal court search can be useful when a matter is filed federally, but it will not provide Oregon Circuit Court divorce, criminal, probate, or local traffic records.
PACER's CM/ECF lookup is another federal access tool.
Use PACER only when the case belongs in federal court; Lane County Circuit Court records remain with OJD and the local Court Archives process.
