Lane County Circuit Court Overview

Lane County Circuit Court is part of the Oregon Judicial Department, not Lane County government. It operates in the county courthouse complex at 125 East 8th Avenue in Eugene. Lane County Circuit Court Locations

Lane County Circuit Court uses the downtown Eugene courthouse for general court services and a separate Juvenile Justice Center for juvenile matters. Search Lane County Circuit Cases

Lane County Circuit Court cases are searched through OJD Online Records Search. The public search shows limited case information but not documents.

For documents, use courthouse terminals, OJCIN Online if eligible, or the Court Archives request process. The court records page says the public terminals can view digital records for cases started in 2014 or later. For pre-2014 files, users should submit a document request form.

3. Review the case information, party, event, hearing, and financial sections.
4. Use courthouse terminals for document viewing when the case is public and available.

Lane County Specialty Courts

Lane County's specialty court history is unusually specific. The official specialty courts page says Lane County Drug Court became operational in October 1994 and was one of the first 20 drug courts in the United States, based on the Miami model. The program was developed as a response to drug-related crime and to reduce jail costs while using close judicial supervision.

Specialty court records still relate to underlying criminal or court case files, but public access depends on case status, restrictions, treatment program rules, and court orders. Lane County Jury Service

Lane County Circuit Court publishes jury duty and juror resources pages. Summoned jurors can respond online or check status using the Juror ID on the summons. Jury schedule checks may use a juror number. Juror resources say orientation is held the morning of the first day of service, and service is generally one day unless the person is selected for a trial.

Juror resources also provide one of the strongest parking details for courthouse visits. Summoned jurors may park free at the Parcade west of the courthouse or the Overpark south of the courthouse during their jury term. That parking detail should not be generalized to all court visitors.

Lane County Lower Courts

Lane County Justice Court and municipal courts are important when the Circuit Court search does not show the matter. Lane County Justice Court is at 900 Greenwood St in Florence, phone 541-997-2535, with hours Monday through Thursday 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Eugene Municipal Court handles city laws and Oregon State Vehicle Code offenses within Eugene city limits. Springfield Municipal Court handles city and state law offenses excluding felonies.

Other municipal courts, including Cottage Grove and Florence, may hold city dockets, local traffic matters, payment records, and bench-warrant information. A person checking a notice, citation, or missed court date should use the court named on that document first.

Federal Court Near Lane County

The federal courthouse in Eugene is close to the Lane County courthouse, but it is a different court system. The Wayne L. Morse U.S. Courthouse at 405 East 8th Avenue handles federal matters for the U.S. District Court for the District of Oregon. Federal filings use federal court systems such as CM/ECF and PACER, not OJD Online Records Search.

Nearby buildings can confuse visitors, so confirm whether the case is state, municipal, justice, bankruptcy, or federal before traveling.

The federal CM/ECF system is another non-OJD filing channel.

That system does not provide Lane County Circuit Court divorce, criminal, probate, or traffic files.
